In 2025 Folk by the Oak raised a staggering £14,156.30 for our wonderful charity partner Willow. This Takes our cumulative total to £154,414.54 raised through ticket contributions, the generosity of the crowd on the day and our 2020 online festival.
This wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our audience and the hard work and dedication of the Willow Volunteers.
Since our very first festival in 2008 we have been delighted to work with the fabulous, energetic and very dedicated Willow team. 50p from every ticket sold for Folk by the Oak is donated to the charity, which is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days.
These are days when they and their families reconnect and refocus on each other while enjoying an activity of their choosing. A day for them, a day about them and a day that will create memories that will be treasured forever.
For some their Special Day is the opportunity to return some normality back into their lives. For others it is the last chance to fulfil a dream. But for all, at what is often the most difficult of times, a Special Day is a life-affirming experience that can lift spirits, increase morale and reunify families.
We will be welcoming the ever-smiling staff and volunteers of Willow back to Folk by the Oak 2027!

Alison’s story
Laura, a 32-year-old mum from Burton-on-Trent, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Her Special Day was spent with her family at CBeebies Land.
“We hoped to gain some quality time together to regroup, reconnect, and rediscover ourselves and our roles as a family, to enjoy each other’s company again, to laugh again, and to give my son the greatest day possible. Having the opportunity to spend time together without the stress of organising and finances is very special.”
Stuart’s Special Day story
A touching Special Day story shared by Hannah the wife of Stuart, 38, who is receiving palliative care for neurodegenerative Huntington’s disease. Their magical Special Day was spent watching Liverpool vs. Atletico Madrid at the stadium of his dreams.
“The Special Day achieved all of Stu’s dreams, we can never say thank you enough. Everything aligned perfectly and we have unforgettable memories. Moments so absolutely amazing they will never be forgotten in our lifetime.”
