With a unique, genre defying sound and compelling energy, we’ve found the perfect band to headline our 2026 Acorn Stage!
Perhaps best described as electronic-folk fusion, Valtos are Skye natives Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald, and they have taken both the Trad and Electronic music worlds by storm, garnering a huge following among festival goers and selling-out venues nationwide.
Their ambitious project, “Valtos and Friends,” saw them collaborate with artists including Elephant Sessions, Julie Fowlis, Gnoss, Project Smok, Siiga, Lewis McLaughlin and more, producing 12 singles which later became their second album. Valtos and Friends was released to great acclaim in early 2025.
Described by KLOF as “like nothing you’ve heard before,” Valtos draws inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of their home, adding a sense of place to their recordings and live performances. Daniel and Martyn will be joined onstage by a full live band, including Lana Pheutan, Eilidh Cormack, Finn MacPherson, and Euan McLaughlin.
Valtos’ talent, innovation, dedication and boundary-pushing artistry continue to impress critics and fans alike, and we are expecting an energetic and unforgettable Acorn Stage finale at FbtO26!
