Project Smok
Project Smok
If you’ve been lucky enough to catch neo-trad trio Project Smok live you’ll know they are renowned for joyous, high energy performances that effortlessly blend trad music with contemporary new-age pop influences.
A perfect band to headline our Acorn Stage!
Formed in 2017 the close-knit Glasgow based trio melds electro dance music with the distinctive piping of BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2020 Ali Levack with Ewan Baird’s skilled bodhran playing and Pablo Lafuente’s nuanced guitar, electric guitar and production.
All renowned, award-winning musicians in their own right, together Project Smok will stop you in your tracks, demand that you listen and, almost certainly, get up and dance.
Their 2020 debut album Bayview cemented Project Smok’s place as an innovative band at the forefront of the traditional music scene, while their second album, The Outset (January 2024), was produced using a treasure trove of special analogue and vintage equipment to showcase their truly unconventional and refreshing sound. We urge you to go check them out!
A band that defies expectation, we can’t wait to hear Project Smok close our Acorn Stage in style.
