Adriano Adewale’s Rooted & Rising
Adriano Adewale’s Rooted & Rising
We’ve long been an admirer of the immensely talented and acclaimed composer and percussionist Adriano Adewale, who blew us away with his standout performance as part of the AKA Trio in 2022. When we heard he was leading an exciting new collaboration of folk and world musicians we knew we had to book him for FbtO2026!
Inspired by the synergies between nature, folklore and folk music, and bringing together musical heritage from England, Scotland, Brazil, Haiti, Columbia, the US and the Punjab, Adriano has assembled an impressive group of musician for this unique musical show – Nancy Kerr, Kuljit Bhamra, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, Camilo Menjura, Pheobe Harty and Jenn Butterworth!!
Commissioned by the English Folk Dance and Song Society and proudly supported by Folk by the Oak and the Cockayne Foundation with the Reed Foundation, we heartily encourage you to head to the Acorn Stage when Adriano and friends are up – you won’t be disappointed!
