London Youth Folk Ensemble
Acorn Stage
Since 2014 the opening slot on our Acorn Stage has been given over to the incredibly talented young adults who make up the London Youth Folk Ensemble (LYFE).
Formed by the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS), LYFE brings together a committed collection of young, amateur and professional folk musicians who create and perform folk music from the British Isles and beyond. Over the last few years, EFDSS has ramped up its outreach efforts to diversify, engage and create new interpretations and attract audiences from near and far. LYFE always deliver an inspirational performance for all the family to enjoy!
“The London Youth Folk Ensemble loves performing at Folk by the Oak — it’s a highlight of our year. Sharing our music with an audience that truly appreciates folk gives us a real sense of achievement, and every time, we’re proud to see how much we impress and inspire. It’s such a special opportunity to be part of a community that shares our passion.”
Jadwiga Słomka, Education Manager, EFDSS
