Folk by the Oak 2017

Leveret will be opening the main stage at Folk by the Oak 2017

Our Main Stage opened in some style by instrumental folk super group Leveret. Comprising 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 'Musician of the Year' Sam Sweeney on fiddle (former member of Bellowhead), twice winner of the above award Andy Cutting on accordion (worked with Kate Rusby, Nancy Kerr, June Tabor and many more!) and Rob Harbron on Concertina (member of award winning folk group The Full English).

Their performance was a mesmerising musical conversation between instruments; sensitively exploring traditional English tunes in a timeless and contemporary style. Captivating!

Music of a rich, sinewy immersion, guided by a mutual sense of exploration, space and a very English kind of swing. It’s an intimate, contemporary reinvention of the source material
