Hannah Read is a versatile multi-instrumentalist recently hailed as one of “the finest singers of the day” by MOJO Magazine.

A member of the critically acclaimed Songs of Separation (winners of Album of the Year at the 2017 Folk Awards) and a much in-demand collaborator on both sides of the Atlantic, Hannah is Brooklyn based, so we were delighted that she returned to the UK for the summer of 2019 and was able to join our Acorn Stage line-up!

A shining example of modern folk Hannah’s song-writing draws inspiration from the people, places and landscapes she encounters on her many travels, clearly reflecting both her Celtic roots and Americana influences. Way Out I’ll Wander, her critically acclaimed new album, also pulls on musings of home and travel, love and loss, with what The Guardian called “nine gorgeous originals".
