Elephant Sessions to play the Folk by the Oak Main Stage.jpg

The Acorn Stage was established in 2012 to give us a platform to showcase a new generation of folk artists who are pushing the boundaries of the folk tradition, so Elephant Sessions were a must pick to headline our second stage this year.

Hailing from the Highlands of Scotland, Elephant Sessions exploded onto the indie folk scene with the release of All We Have is Now in 2017, garnering critical acclaim from folk magazines to Rolling Stone Magazine and Radio 6 Music. 2018 saw continued success with the band winning Album of the Year at the BBC Scotland Trad awards, a nomination for Best Group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and more recently a nomination for Scottish Album of the Year and being voted 2018 BBC Scotland Trad Live Act of the Year.

With a 3rd album heading our way in March 2019 and a reputation for doing serious damage to marquee floors, we are delighted to be bringing this completely unique band to the Acorn Stage. Prepare to bounce folks – it’s going to be a lively finale again this year!

The versatility of Elephant Sessions is its strength. Passionate about their culture and their origins, these Scots are using their instruments like weapons to destroy clichés...We love them
