Kinnaris Quintet

01 - Kinnaris Quintet Spring 2020_019.jpg

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch Kinnaris Quintet live you’ll know that their infectiously joyous, uplifting and powerful performances bring together a euphoric combination of traditional music with delicate sparkles of Bluegrass, Scandinavian, Appalachian, and Classical influences. Simply perfect for our Acorn Stage!

Since they burst onto the music scene in 2017 with their unique sound, the Glasgow-based quintet have become the ‘must see’ folk band for festival goers. In 2018 their debut album Free One was released to great acclaim and a plethora of award nominations.

Winners of the 2019 Belhaven Bursary for Innovation in Music (the largest financial music prize in Scotland), Kinnaris Quintet comprises Laura Wilkie (Fiddle), Aileen Reid (5-String Fiddle), Fiona MacAskill (Fiddle), Jenn Butterworth (Guitar) and Laura-Beth Salter (Mandolin).

Expect a performance packed with fresh, uplifting music from both Free One and the bands eagerly anticipated second album, and a set sure to leave your hands clapping, your toes tapping and a big smile on your face!
