6 April 2020
We realise that many of our customers are understandably concerned about coronavirus, and that you might be looking ahead to what this may mean for our festival.
You will have seen, very sadly, that several major events are being cancelled or postponed. Many of these events are cancelling because they have a long and complex build up that they are unable to commence in time to make their event viable. Folk by the Oak requires a much shorter build time so we are not under quite the same time pressures as events such as Wimbledon and Glastonbury.
Folk by the Oak is currently going ahead and we are working hard to create another day of exceptional music and festival fun this July. Whilst we remain hopeful for the summer, we are not unrealistic about what the coming months may hold. It is an unprecedented time for everyone, and we are doing our best to prepare ourselves for whatever the outcome may be.
Customer safety is always our top priority, as is that of our wonderful artists, traders, volunteers and staff. We are very carefully monitoring the way the situation is changing, and we continue to follow government advice.
Please be assured that, in the event that it becomes necessary to postpone the festival until 2021, your booking would automatically be valid for next year's festival and you would be offered the option of a refund.
In the event of a postponement you would be notified via the email address that you booked with, and we would also release statements online via our website, social media pages and local press.
Stay safe and well.
With very best wishes from Adam, Caroline, Beth, Emma and all at Folk by the Oak.
