Biography
The group that spawned a thousand ukulele orchestras and inspired millions of
players.
From the North Pole to Sydney Opera House, via Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert
Hall. The Ukes of GB(TM) are touring planet Earth with their funny, stomping,
toe tapping, all singing, all plucking obituary of Rock and Roll and melodious
light entertainment. You'll hear music you love and music you 'simply didn't
get' transformed into a joyous, headlong stream of transcendent sounds and
musical delight featuring only 'bonsai guitars', a menagerie of voices and warm
personalities. A world tour with only hand luggage.
From the first sold out concert in 1985 to the current world tour, the Ukes of
GB(TM) have been turning-the-world-on to the ukulele. They’ve online clips with
millions of views, CD and DVD sales in the hundreds of thousands and sold out
shows around the world. They're independent, anarchic, funny, virtuosic,
thought provoking and mind boggling. They have sixteen-handedly changed the
face of the ukulele world. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll never think about
music in the same way after you've encountered the ukes' depraved musicology,
giving you "one plucking thing after another".
Today there are thousands of ukulele orchestras but it started here. The
original and the best. The orchestra which made the uke cool: The Ukulele
